Why Your Greatest Growth Comes After Collapse
There are moments in life when everything you built — your plans, your strength, even your sense of self — crumbles.
At first, it feels like failure. Like something inside you broke for good.
But what if I told you collapse is not the end?
What if it’s the start of something greater?
In the moments when everything falls apart, we’re given the rarest gift:
A chance to rebuild — the right way.
My Journey of Collapse and Rebirth
I’m living this right now.
Not in theory.
Not in some storybook, fairy-tale way.
In real time — every day I wake up.
Four weeks ago, my life looked very different.
My family and I packed up everything we owned and moved across states — back to Washington.
A “new” fresh start… but not an easy one.
In California – We left behind comfort, routine, and a sense of hope and new beginnings.
We came back to a familiar uncertainty (Prior to us moving to California) — boxes everywhere, chaos around us, a life that needed to be rebuilt from the ground up.
My gym routine? Broken.
My writing projects? On hold.
My daily structure? Nonexistent.
Even spiritually, I could feel it — the old world I clung to was gone.
At first, it felt overwhelming.
But the more I sat with it, the clearer the truth became:
This collapse wasn’t my punishment. It was my permission.
Permission to rise stronger.
Permission to rebuild my body, my mind, and my spirit with new fire.
Permission to let go of old limits and create something far beyond what I thought I was capable of.
Since moving, I’ve been rebuilding piece by piece:
- Restarting my gym journey with clear goals: strength, agility, endurance.
- Preparing for the birth of another child — with deeper gratitude this time.
- Waking up every day, remembering who I am at my core: not someone chasing survival… but someone forging strength.
Why Collapse Is the True Beginning
Here’s the truth:
You are going to collapse at some point in your life.
You will lose jobs, relationships, confidence.
You will have seasons when your energy, your passion, even your sense of identity feels stripped away.
And when it happens, the world will tell you it’s failure.
It’s not.
It’s the space where the old you dies — and the real you can finally be born.
The old structures, the ones that were built to please others, to survive, to stay “safe” — they have to fall.
Only then can you rebuild a life that’s truly yours.
How to Rebuild After Collapse
If you’re in your own season of collapse right now — here’s how to begin:
1. Reflect:
Ask yourself:
“What parts of my old life needed to fall apart?”
Be brutally honest. Some parts were never meant to survive.
2. Rebuild:
Start small.
Build new habits that reinforce your mind first — daily affirmations, small wins, discipline over motivation.
Then move into your body — movement, strength, nourishment.
Finally, your spirit — meditation, prayer, creation.
3. Renew:
Don’t rebuild the old life.
Build a new one — aligned with your real values, your real fire.
Create something your future self will be proud to stand on.
Your Collapse Was Never Your Ending
You are not broken.
You are being reforged.
The ashes you’re standing in?
They are the foundation for something stronger, smarter, more resilient than you have ever been before.
And if you’re wondering how I know?
Because I’m standing in my ashes too — and I’m building.
You’re not alone.
You’re not lost.
You’re just getting started.
